The Charlotte Observer ran their football previews this week. With so many returning starters the expectations are high! They pick the Spiders to top the SPC this season.

SKINNY: Anson is loaded with three big-time Division I prospects (Trinton Sturdivant has committed to Georgia; Michael Bowman has committed to South Carolina; and Barquell Rivers is an all-state and conference defensive player of the year). But look to Concord to win the title -- the Spiders return 18 starters, including QB Jimmy Drye (2,275 yards, 19 TDs passing), WR Lance Lewis (1,080 yards, 10 TDs receiving), three more receivers who have started and a host of defenders.
