CHS hosted a tribute to former Head Coach E.Z. Smith Saturday July 25. WBTV news anchor Paul Cameron served as Master of Ceremonies for the event.

The speakers included:

• Robin Hayes, Former US Representative and CHS Football Player
• Bill Ford, Former Athletic Director CHS
• Brad Kline, Former teammate at USC
• Jim Carlen, Former Head Coach at USC
• Tommy Beecher, Former CHS Quarterback
• Pete Vacho & Reilly Fields, Carolina Panthers
• Brice Heim, Chairman Keystone Real Estate Group
• Audrey Lee Smith Slocum, Daughter & Teacher at Vance High School
• E.Z. Smith IV, Son & Coach at Muskingum University
  
  There was also a video featuring many friends and former rivals including Ron Massey and former Kannapolis coach Bruce Harden. The night also served as a kickoff to the campaign to build a new wellness center at CHS. Photos to come.
