images/kickoff.jpgThe Spiders kickoff the 2009 season this Friday as they host Marvin Ridge.

The Mavericks are coached by Scott Chadwick. Formerly members of the South Piedmont Conference Marvin Ridge is now in the new Southern Carolina 3A/4A Conference. They have many returning players from a solid playoff team last season. The Mavericks are expected to contend for the SCC crown this season.

Concord looks to rebound from a 3-7 season. Former Spider assistant Coach Glen Padgett returns to lead the Spiders after head coaching stints at Salisbury, Northwest Cabarrus, and North Mecklenburg. The Spiders return a solid group of players on the defense side of the ball. Offensively the Spiders will have some familiar faces with quarterbacks Sean Willix and Jordan Havinga returning with experience from last season.

Come out to support the Spiders as they open the 2009 season! Kickoff is 7:30PM at Robert C. Bailey Stadium.
