Page 1 of 3 Robinson defeated Concord 40-32 Friday night at Robert C. Bailey Stadium. Concord took a 7-0 lead on a 55 yard touchdown pass from Sean Willix to J. D. Misenheimer. Later after a Spider fumble Robinson pulled even with a 14 yard touchdown keeper by quarterback Joey Bastine. Concord would again take the lead with another long touchdown pass. Robinson tailback Antonio Frances scampered 65 yards for a touchdown to tied the game at 14 at the end of the first quarter.The defenses controlled the 2nd quarter. Concord added a Brandon Barnhardt 18 yard field goal just before halftime. Concord went to the locker room up 17-14. Robinson jumped out to a 16 point lead in the 3rd quarter with another long touchdown by Bulldog tailback Francis and a short touchdown pass from Bastine to Ian Cannaday. Down 33-17 Concord needed a spark. Spider Senior cornerback Mark O'Brien answered the call with a 95 yard kickoff return to get the Spiders back within one score. However the Spiders could not stop the Bulldogs ground attack. Antonio Frances added his third touchdown of the night, this time from 25 yards to put the Bulldogs up 40-25. Concord added another long touchdown pass from Jordan Havinga to Jacquise Moore. Robinson would take over and run out the clock, winning 40-32. Spider quarterback Sean Willix was 5-10 for 146 yards and two touchdowns before being knocked out with an apparent shoulder injury. Jordan Havinga came on in relief and finished 7-12 for 112 yards and a touchdown. 6 different Spider receivers caught a pass. J.D. Misenheimer led the way with 3 catches for 117 and two touchdowns.
