Page 1 of 3 Concord defeated Cox Mill 41-0 Friday night at Charger Stadium.Concord took control of the game from the opening kickoff. After holding the Chargers to a 3-and-out on their opening possession Concord drove down the field but fumbled the ball near the goal line. Later in the first quarter Concord got on the board with a 9 yard touchdown run from Dominique Posey. On the next Charger possession Spider cornerback Jason Willix recovered a fumble. Concord would drive again. The drive featured passes to 4 different Spider receivers. Once again the drive was finished off by a short Posey touchdown run. The Spiders ended the first quarter with a 14-0 lead. The defense would get in on the action in the second quarter as Taj Williams returned a Charger fumble 27 yards for a touchdown. Later after a Cox Mill punt the Spiders scored again quickly as Varen Blake scampered in from 7 yards out. The next Charger possession ended in a turnover after a bad snap was recovered by Spider defensive end Wesley Scott. A few plays later Posey scored his third touchdown of the night. Concord went into halftime with a 34-0 lead. Concord receiver Jacquise Moore provided the final Spider score on the opening kickoff of the second half. Moore returned the kick 85 yards for the touchdown. Concord substituted and the clock ran the entire second half. Ryan Goodman and Jacquise Moore both took snaps at quarterback in the second half. Concord's defense held the Chargers to 20 total yards. Bradley Phillips and Wesley Scott recorded sacks. Jason Willix, Taj Williams and Tevin Barnes each recovered a fumble. B.J. Beecher finished 9-13 with one interception in one half of action. Dominique Posey scored three rushing touchdowns. Varen Blake added another rushing touchdown.
