Concord hosts Northwest Cabarrus Friday night in first round playoff action at Robert C. Bailey Stadium. Concord looks to continue their strong second half of the season. The Spiders have won 5 games in a row after an 0-6 start. Freshman quarterback B.J. Beecher has thrown for over 1000 yards and 8 touchdowns after taking over at midseason. The Spider defense has dialed up the intensity in the second half of the season. After giving up nearly 30 points a game in the first half of the season the defense has allowed an average of 11 points in the last 4 contests. Northwest Cabarrus finished the season 8-3 overall and tied for second in the South Piedmont Conference with a 5-2 performance in the conference. The Trojans two conference losses came to Kannapolis and Hickory Ridge. Northwest's Head Coach is Rich Williams. This will be the Spiders second meeting with the Trojans. Northwest won the September 25th matchup 42-15. Kickoff is 7:30PM at Robert C. Bailey Stadium. Check back for any weather related updates.
