Concord lost a hard fought contest in Chapel Hill 84-79 Saturday night.

Concord overcame an early 10 point deficit behind a 8-0 run fueled by Jacquise Moore.

Later in the 2nd Concord tied the game at 26. The two teams went back and forth for much of the 2nd quarter. Rocky Mount took a 38-36 lead into halftime.

Rocky Mount jumped out to a 5 point lead early in the 2nd half.

The Gryphons built that lead to 12 in the 4th quarter. But the Spiders fought back cutting the lead to 3 points with 1:30 remaining in the game.

Tashawn Mabry led the Gryphons with 26 points and 10 rebounds.Mabry was named MVP.

Rocky Mount used their size advantage inside to outrebound the Spiders 47-37.
