Concord opens the season on the road Friday night at Marvin Ridge.

The Mavericks are led by returning quarterback Tyler Chadwick and South Carolina commit wide receiver K.J. Brent. The Maverick's Head Coach is Scott Chadwick.

The Spiders are equally optimistic, returning 15 starters from a team that won 5 out of 6 games to finish last season.

Quarterback B.J. Beecher looks to build on last season's All-SPC performance of 1100 yards passing and 8 touchdowns. Beecher will have familiar targets in returning receivers Eli Bost and Terrance Highsmith.

Beecher will also have a full compliment of runners joining him in the backfield. All-SPC tailback Dominique Posey returns. Posey will share duty with Varen Blake and other Spider tailbacks.

The offensive line returns 3 starters including 3 year starter Nathan Santiago.

The Spider defense returns several starters on the frontline including All-SPC performers Bradley Phillips and Darrin Posey. The linebacking corps is led by All-SPC picks Jalen Brown and Tevin Barnes.

Sophomore kicker Robert Salsich will take over the specialist duties.
