Marvin Ridge turned the ball over on the first play from scrimmage, setting Concord up at the Maverick's 12 yard line. However the Spiders were not able to take advantage. Two missed exchanges and a short run forced the Spiders to attempt a 27 yard field goal. Robert Salsich's kicked sailed wide left.

The Spiders offense put together a long drive to start the 2nd quarter. The drive featured long pass plays from quarterback B.J. Beecher to receivers Terrence Highsmith, Marsalis Moore, and Desmond Shamsid-Dean. The drive was capped off by a 1 touchdown run by Jamil Bost. The Spider's point after attempt was blocked.

Just before halftime Marvin Ridge blocked a Spider punt and returned it for a touchdown. Marvin Ridge took a 7-6 lead into halftime.

After a solid first half Concord struggled in the second half.

On the 3rd play from scrimmage a B.J. Beecher pass was intercepted and returned to the Concord 5 yard line. Kolly Ogar punched it in to put the Mavericks up 14-6.

The Mavericks would pick off another Beecher pass later in the 3rd. However the Spider defense forced a punt three plays later.
