Concord scored on their second offensive play and never looked back en route to a 58-0 win over East Rowan Friday night. Phillips scored on the Spiders second play, scampering 42 yards to paydirt. He also added 2 more touchdown runs of 40 and 50 yards respectively in the first half. Phillips career night ended with 236 yards rushing and three touchdowns. The Spiders passing attack was also dominant. B.J. Beecher threw four touchdown passes on the night. The first was a 30 yard reception by Jon Neal. The next two touchdowns were to Alex Asbury. Beecher finished off his night with a short touchdown to tight end Terrance Knox. He finished 13-23 for 190 yards. The Mustangs were never in scoring position thanks to a commanding performance from the Concord defensive unit.
