Concord beat Northwest 30-6 Friday night at Robert C Bailey Stadium.

After a short Trojan punt the Spiders wasted little time jumping out to a 7-0 lead on a B.J. Beecher 1 yard sneak.

On their next drive the Spiders put together a 60 yard drive capped off by Denzel Phillip's 4 yard touchdown run.

After another defensive stop Concord drove 60 yards again to go up 19-0 on a 20 yard touchdown pass to Bravone Howard.

Concord's defense forced 3 and outs on the Trojans first three possessions.

On the first play of the Trojans' next drive John Edmonds busted through the Spider defense and raced 58 yards to get the Trojan's lone score of the night.

Concord took a 19-6 lead into halftime.

After taking the second half kickoff Concord drove to the Trojan 9 yard line but the Trojans defense held. Robert Salsich increased the lead to 22-6 with a 26 yard field goal.

The Trojans drove into scoring territory on the next drive but fumbled, James Williams recovered for the Spiders.

Later in the 4th quarter Concord put the game away with a 63 yard 7 play drive. Beecher scored his second rushing touchdown of the night from 1 yard out. Phillips added a 2 point conversion run to give the Spiders a 30-6 lead.

The Spider defense stopped the Trojans on downs one last time then ran out the remaining time.

Denzel Phillips continued his strong senior season with 143 yards on 34 carries. For the season Phillips has 1552 yards and 17 touchdowns.

B.J. Beecher finished 11-21 for 250 yards and 1 touchdown. He also scored two touchdowns on the ground.

Terrance Knox led the Spider receiving corps with 4 catches. Bravone Howard had the Spider's touchdown reception.

The Spider defense dominated the Trojans early on allowing Concord to take control. L-Roy McCray led the Spider defenders with 9 tackles. Kendall Bost added a sack. James Williams recovered a fumble.

Next week Concord will host Rockingham County, who upset Southern Guilford 17-7.
