__db8802_web It took a while Friday night, but Concord's offense got going in the 2nd quarter in route to a 39-9 first round win over RS Central.

In the 1st quarter RS Central kept Concord's offense bottled up but could only manage a 25 yard field goal themselves. RS Central was up 3-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the 2nd quarter Concord blew the game open. Dee Bost scored on a 3 yard keeper to put the Spiders on the board. Roger Smith added a 19 yard touchdown run. Dee Bost found Lance Lewis on the 2 point conversion. The Bost to Lewis connection would add two more touchdowns in the quarter. Mike Moore added a two point conversion run after a Hilltopper penalty on the PAT attempt. Chad Myers would add a 25 yard field goal just before the half.

The defenses controlled the 3rd quarter. Concord would add one more touchdown on a Mike Moore 3 yard run.

Concord would substitute heavily late in the game. The Hilltoppers scored their lone touchdown on the last play of the game.

Dee Bost had another strong game going 15-25 for over 200 yards and two touchdowns. Roger Smith added 109 yards on the ground.

After allowing the 1st quarter field goal the Spiders defense buckled down against the Hilltoppers. Delano Young led the Spiders defense with 10 tackles, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery and a blocked punt. Lance Lewis and Dee Bost both added interceptions. Johnson, Sam Craven, and Marcus Rouse each had 1 sack.

Concord will host the Asheville Cougars in the second round next Friday.
