In a move anticipated by some in Spider Nation Marty Paxton was named head football coach at his alma mater. 

Paxton returns to CHS after head coaching tenures at Hickory Ridge and Mooresville. 

Paxton is a 1994 graduate of Concord and played for former Head Coaches Glen Padgett and E.Z. Smith.

Worked an an assistant for Head Coach E.Z. Smith before accepting an Assistant Coaching Position at Mooresville. 

Started football program at Hickory Ridge when school opened in 2007.

Took over Mooresville program in 2016.
